Responsibilities:

The Technology Solution Group of QinetiQ North America is recruiting a Program Manager for Transportation Information Systems

 

 

The Program Manager will be responsible for highly technical and complex programs 

 

The Program Manager:

  • Identifies and implements appropriate business solutions while supporting company strategies, builds relationships with multiple levels of peers and management and demonstrates effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Directs and coordinates personally, or through subordinate managerial personnel, activities concerned with implementation and carrying out objectives of program(s).
  • Manages subcontractors to assure program performance.
  • Serves as primary customer contact.
  • Ensures adherence to master plans and schedules, develops solutions to program problems, and directs work of those assigned from various departments or areas of organization.
  • Responsible for program growth, marketing new technology and/or follow-on business acquisition.
  • Ensures program(s) meet or exceed quality standards and is delivered on time.
  • Leads and directs Program Managers, Project Managers and Projects Teams facilitating communication and interaction with customers.
  • Develops and implements recovery plans for off-schedule and unanticipated eventualities.
  • Recommends and leads efforts to improve existing processes to improve quality or on-time completion.
  • Participates in negotiation of contracts and contractual changes and coordinating preparations of proposals, plans, specifications, and financial conditions of contracts.


Qualifications:

Generally requires a Bachelors degree in Engineering, Science or Information Technology and 15 or more years of related project management experience with increasing responsibilities, including 10 years of management experience. PMP certification preferred.

 

The candidate must have strong knowledge of and experience in transportation and logistics functions (aviation, surface, marine, and/or rail systems) with emphasis on information systems technologies that support these areas. Must have superior verbal and written communications skills, excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with people at all levels from senior customers to programmers and technicians. Experience in technical oversight and management of groups of at least 30 employees working in a customer site environment. Responsible for all aspects customer relationship, reporting and contract/task order tracking.
